The River Church is an active and friendly family of Christ followers focused on igniting a passion to follow Jesus. We do that primarily by exalting Christ, experiencing community, and embracing a calling. All are encouraged and challenged to explore God's truth, understand God's truth and live it out on a daily basis.

  • Jerry Garcia - Guest Speaker

    Jerry and Ernie Garcia will be with us Sunday, February 14. Jerry always brings a powerful encouragement from the Lord. Come expecting a blessing.

  • Dave Bell Band: A Story of Hope Tour

    High quality, multimedia - based worship concert incorporating Dave's personal testimony of healing.

    Here at the River, Thursday night, February 18, 7p.

    Because of this special concert, we will not have our regular activities on Wednesday night.

  • Life University

    The Winter 2010 Semester Sunday classes began on January 31, and the Wednesday classes will begin February 3.

    These free classes are open to everyone. Please call the church to register in advance.

    Sundays, 9a (Jan 31- May 2)

    "Evangelism." Teacher: Stephen Starnes. Students will learn to step out of their comfort zone to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world and to share their faith effectively and Biblically. . .the way Jesus did.

    "The Book of Acts." Teacher: Jim Alling. Students will learn about the
    A (awesome)
    C (consuming compassion) of
    T (the) Holy
    S (Spirit)
    and gain encouragement that believers today can operae in the power of the Holy Spirit as the early church did.

    Wednesdays, 7p (Feb 3- May 5)

    "Prayer and Its Components." Teacher: Cheryl Evans. This course will cover different types of prayers, how to pray, putting on the armor of God, and fasting.

    "True Freedom." Teacher: Connie Swain. Did you know that Satan goes after you on purpose? It is his job to keep you from fulfilling what God has for you, because God's plan for you is a threat to the enemy's plan. In this course we will walk through how to become truly and permanently free according to God's promise in His word.

    "Everyday God, Part 2." Teacher: Alan Moore. Is life full of ups and downs? Do you constantly feel as if you need a lifeline from God? This class is for you. Learn to live easily in the presence of God, experiencing the source of our joy and strength. Part 1 is not a prerequisite.

    "Lifestyle Discipleship." Teacher: Billy Fletcher. Students will learn to depend on the manifest presence of Holy Spirit in their daily walk, to receive direction from Him, to establish their identity in Him, and thereby be equipped to disciple others to live in His presence.

  • Real Women

    All ladies are invited to come for brunch, growing relationships, and Bible Study.

    Every Tuesday through April 27 in the RISE Cafe.

    9:30-10:00a - Brunch and fellowship
    10:00 - 11:30a - Bible Study

    Regular schedule: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month

    Men’s Breakfast Group meets every Thursday morning at 7a at      I-HOP. All men are encouraged to attend for a time of rich fellowship.

     

  • Pre-Service Prayer

    A time to pray silently or out loud for the River Church - for the pastors, members, guests, ministries, and services.

    Sundays, 9:00-9:50a, Hospitality Room (for the month of February)

    Everyone is invited to come and support the River with prayer.

  • Soaking Saturday

    The next opportunity is Saturday, February 27, 9a-1p, Auditorium

    A time to "soak" in God's presence with worshipful music in the background. Pray silently or out loud. Come for the whole time, or come when you can and stay as long as you wish. No childcare provided.

  • Get Connected - Join a small group

     

    Some of our small groups are underway and others will be added as needed. See the Small Groups section for a list of groups. Everyone is encouraged to join a group.

    Pastor is asking our church to prayerfully consider the amount we can pledge to give over and above our regular giving so that the River can better serve our kids, youth, and adults by developing the property behind the RISE building.
