Youth Pastors James and Karin Varnadore

Pastors James and Karin VarnadorePastor James Varnadore always knew that he would be in full-time ministry. In July of 2006, God called him and his family to move to Decatur to be part of the staff at the River Church. Serving as a volunteer at his home church for nine years, he was involved in music, youth and outreach. There he was ordained in 2004. Since being married to Karin in 1998, they have had two sons, Sebastian and Simon. He attended Oral Roberts University and studied Music Technology. James also has the privilege of
serving as the Associate Pastor and he oversees the operation, education and facilities of the River.

His hobbies are video games with his kids, sports, reading and the occasional work out. He loves the Orlando Magic and the Miami Dolphins and nothing in Texas will change that!

Come and meet James. He loves what he does and you will be able to tell!

Children’s Pastors Jim and Patty Tumlinson

Jim and Patty came to the River in 2002, and Jim began serving full time as the children’s minister and Associate Pastor in 2008. He came to the Lord and earned a diploma from Harvest for Christ Bible College in San Diego while serving in the Marines. He has done missions work in East Asia and Mexico, and he and Patty were full-time missionaries in Honduras in 2005 & 2006. Jim operates in the prophetic gifts and has been involved in children’s ministry for over 18 years, teaching children powerful truths with a meaningful, fun approach. Jim and Patty have three daughters and three grandchildren.

His desire is to train young people to be leaders, to identify (with parents’ help) children’s giftings and to train the children to operate in those gifts and to help men see and achieve their potential.
